How to make cards for a whole class

Count the learners and decide whether each needs a card or a pair can share. In bingo, select the grid size before setting the card count.

How to use it

Count the learners and decide whether each needs a card or a pair can share. In bingo, select the grid size before setting the card count. A 3 × 3 board needs nine words, or eight with a free centre. Larger lists create more variety.

Generate the cards, check the first and last preview and keep one caller sheet. Print one trial page at actual size before making the full class set.

Adapt the activity

For an easier task, use fewer familiar items, a smaller grid and a visible word list. For more challenge, use definitions, add diagonal directions or ask learners to explain each answer. Test one sheet before making copies.
